Grow your own food

Big Muddy's courses guide you from the fundamentals all the way to advanced techniques, so you can grow, harvest, and store your own food. Classes are hands-on and rooted in the real, muddy work of urban farming.

Who it's for

Neighbors of Gifford Park and the wider 68131 zip code, children from across the Omaha–Council Bluffs metro, and aspiring urban farmers from anywhere in Eastern Nebraska and Southwest Iowa. Classes are offered for both adults (19+) and kids.

Affordable, with scholarships

Registration is just $25 for an entire course — 8 classes for youth, 9 for adults. Full scholarships are available first-come, first-served: just email the word "Scholarship" to info@bigmuddyurbanfarm.org. Attend more than four classes a year and you'll receive a gift card to Indian Creek Nursery to build your own urban farm.
